About the Scholars:
Justin Little, MD — Wake Forest
Justin Little, M.D. is a second-year diagnostic radiology resident at Wake Forest/Atrium Health in Winston-Salem, NC. He attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree and then Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, GA. He completed his intern year in Myrtle Beach at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Dr. Little is involved in medical student radiology education at Wake Forest, as well as several projects to improve workflow in Wake Forest’s radiology department. He participates on multiple departmental committees, including recruitment, education, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Dr. Little is someone who volunteers to help wherever there is a need—a true team player. He has maintained an interest in politics since college and enjoys participating at the National ACR conference in Washington DC (two years in a row). Working with the North Carolina ACR chapter has been an enlightening experience for him with great mentorship opportunities.
Micaela Nannery, MD — Duke
Dr. Micaela Nannery is a second-year integrated IR resident at Duke University, having previously completed undergraduate at the University of Miami and Medical School at Boston University. She has had a passion for interventional radiology since her time in medical school, where she founded her institutional IR interest group, and also found time to contribute to the SIR RFS.
At Duke she has already become a leader in the residency program, and among other contributions has been an essential member of the recruitment team for both the IR and DR residencies. In her time outside of medicine, she enjoys long-distance running and Yoga, and is honing her conversational and medical Spanish.
Henry Stiepel, MD — UNC
Dr. Henry Stiepel is a second year diagnostic radiology resident at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Henry graduated from the UNC School of Medicine after obtaining master’s and undergraduate degrees at USC. During his time in residency, faculty and peers have noted Henry’s dedication to teaching and mentoring his junior residents as one of his many strong qualities.
We are excited and honored to have Dr. Stiepel represent our program as an NC ACR Resident Scholar.
